Recognize Anyone?
You probably won’t see red carpet interview videos with these supporting actors, but they are among the diamonds at the core of the film & television world. This website is about mining actors –both current and classic– from the closing credits, and from the back of your mind, into illumination and recognition.
Some are faces that give you that feeling of familiarity and delight every time you see them–but whose names you can never quite remember or never even knew. Or the name may be familiar but is disembodied.
Others are voices with essentially unconnected faces that may surprise you when the visage and voice are coupled.
Connect the Dots
While still others are mysteries like a face that pesters you from a commercial because you know you’ve seen it in other places but you can’t connect the dots; or like a face that becomes familiar only because it keeps recurring in the same place, such as the “woman in the green dress” who wafted, unacknowledged, through The Grand Phoenix for so long on daytime’s The Young and the Restless.
Actors Under the Stars (AutS) is here to help soothe those nagging tugs and relieve those vague puzzlements.
Profiles, backstories, interviews, musings, observations, and where to spot your favorites: the under-lauded are here.
Welcome. ~FW
