Auts Newsletter #2

I didn't expect artificial intelligence to have such heart, but the AI search engines seem to
have gotten the point about the new website just right:

"Actors Under the Stars focuses on
bringing attention to actors who may not be household names [both classic and
contemporary]...The initiative seeks to illuminate their careers, providing profiles, backstories, and interviews that highlight their contributions to the cinematic and television arts. The platform encourages fans to learn more about these actors...fostering a deeper connection between audiences and the performers..."
Thanks AI, for understanding.

Please visit Actors Under the Stars where supporting cast members--such as the beloved guy pictured above--thrive! And don't hesitate to leave a comment on the latest CastNotes/Blog post or even on an old post.

In the meantime, here is a delightful supporting performance to catch streaming:
The story opens on Thanksgiving Day and the movie is, undoubtedly, among the ultimate Christmas-spirit films.

You've probably seen the classic Miracle on 34th Street and, less likely, the credible remake from 1994. One actor appears in both versions. Unassuming character actor Alvin Greenman is the doorman in the remake and the guileless, heart-warming Macy's employee Alfred in the Oscar-winning original of 1947. (Notably, he is uncredited for his supporting role in the original film. However, he is so memorable for his performance as Alfred that, forty-seven years later, he is designated as a "featured" player in the ending credit scroll of the remake for his quick swipe of an appearance as the doorman.)

You can experience these movies by several different means: Both versions are available with subscription on Hulu and Disney+. With Pluto TV, you can stream the remake online for free. The original can also be viewed for free on YouTube and is available with subscription on Prime Video where the remake can also be rented or purchased. Enjoy Alvin Greenman this holiday season!
Indulge and spread the word.
